Exposition Enki Bilal

J'ai eu la chance d'aller voir l'exposition sur Enki Bilal "Animal'z" la semaine dernière. Oui, honte à moi je vous en parle maintenant à 2 jours de la fin de l'expo. Vraiment désolée, mais c'est aussi une envie de partager comme d'habitude.

Une exposition sur le dernier album de l'un des meilleurs artistes contemporains. Situé à l'hôtel Dassault, on pourra y admirer sa dernière oeuvre jusqu'au 10 septembre.
J'ai noté également que c'est un vrai plaisir de voir cette expo à l'hôtel Dassault, qui est vraiment un superbe bâtiment autant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur (parfait, plaisir des yeux tout du long!!) L'exposition porte sur ANIMAL'Z, le dernier album de l'artiste, une sorte de western futuriste qui parle, entre autres, de la relation homme-animal.

On y découvre 350 dessins originaux de l'album, présentés pas forcément dans l'ordre, dans une scénographie simple mais intéressante et nouvelle, permettant de déstructurer l'oeuvre. Je cite le site (very funny) d'artcurial: "La scénographie et l’accrochage proposeront cependant une vision nouvelle de ce western futuriste d’Enki Bilal en abordant l’œuvre par les différents stades de sa genèse. le récit déconstruit, permettra de mettre en valeur l’exceptionnel vocabulaire graphique de l’artiste."

Chaque planche est fascinante à regarder, j'ai beaucoup aimé voir les traits de crayon, de pastels, le très petite palette de couleurs utilisée par Bilal. Quelques planches sont accrochées sous différents formats, original et agrandi pour une double, voire triple vision des dessins.

Une salle permet de s'asseoir et de voir un montage des différents films adaptés de son son œuvre , film monté par Enki Bilal lui même. Une autre salle projette une interview de l'auteur avec Serge Lemoine (interview visionnable sur le site d'artcurial).

Bref, une très belle exposition, et un bon moment passé avec des amis encore plus dingues que moi là dessus.
L'exposition se clôturera par une vente aux enchères de tous les dessins exposés.Deux catalogues existent pour le public (dispo à la librairie de l'hôtel Dassault) , un à 20€ et l'autre (plus complet avec l'interview Collector) à 40€.

I had the chance to see the exhibition about Enki Bilal 's "Animal'z" last week. Yes, shame on me I speak of it now and it's ending in just 2 days. Really sorry, but it is also a desire to share as usual.

An exhibition on the latest album from one of the best comtemporary artists. Located at the Hotel Dassault, one can admire his latest work until 10th september.
It was also a pleasure to see this exhibition at the Hotel Dassault, which is really a beautiful building both inside and outside (perfect feast for the eyes all the way! ) The exhibition focuses on ANIMAL'Z, the latest album from the artist, a sort of futuristic western that talks about, among other things, the relationship between man and animal.

We discover 350 original drawings from the album, not necessarily presented in order, in a specially designed interesting and new way to show them, to deconstruct the work. I quote the artcurial website : "The layout and the hanging, however, propose a new vision for this futuristic western of Enki Bilal's work by showing the different stages of its genesis. Deconstructs the narrative, will highlight the unique graphic vocabulary of the artist. "

Each drawing is fascinating to watch, I really liked the pencil strokes, pastels, the very small palette of colors used by Bilal. Some drawings are hung in different formats, original and in a way bigger size to double or triple the vision of the drawings.

There's a room where you can sit down and see a special editing of all the films adapted from bilal's work, this film is edited by Enki Bilal himself. Another room shows an interview of the author with Serge Lemoine (interview viewable on the site artcurial).

To end with it, a wonderful exhibition, and a good time spent with friends even crazier than me about that.
The exhibition ends with an auction of all the drawings displayed. Catalogs are available to the public (available at the bookstore of Hotel Dassault), one at 20 € and the other (Collector verision with the interview of Enki Bilal) at 40 €.

That was such a splendid day...kinda wish i was going back to Paris soon. But we just saw a very cheap offer for eurostar so perhaps we'll be going to London instead. ;) Which is also very nice of course. *nods*
